• Parent should join their children on the ride to school
• Always wear a helmet to protect your head
• Ride in the right-most lane that goes in the direction that you are traveling or on designated multi-use paths
• Obey all stop signs, traffic lights and lane markings; be predictable
• Signal turns or lane changes; look, indicate your intention, then act
• Be visible by wearing bright clothing and use blinking rear lights
• Always lock your bike in an approved location.

Excellence Awards Presented at ITEEA Annual Conference

A number of ITEEA members were recently honored by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association during its 2012 annual conference. 

Thirty-three technology and engineering teachers received the "Teacher Excellence Award" during the Second General Session. The award is one of the highest honors given to technology education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of each recipient’s outstanding contribution to the profession and to his or her students.

•••••••8th Grade Event Reminders••••••

Monday, APRIL 2nd is the last day to submit photos of your 8th grader for the class DVD.

Ticket order forms for the event are due APRIL 20th.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  We need order forms by the 20th to order the t-shirts, gift bags and for proper party planning.  Thanks to all of you that have already submitted your forms!  There are extra forms in the office and on the Karrer web page.

• All 6^thgraders are required by Ohio law to have a TDAP booster vaccine prior to entry into 7^thgrade. Whooping cough is currently prevalent in the community and the Tdap vaccine is now required to help protect against not only Pertussis (whooping cough), but also Diphtheria and Tetanus. Please contact your child's doctor to see if your 6^thgrader has already received this vaccine or will need to get one during this school year. If your 6th grader has already received the Tdap vaccine, please send verification of this record into the clinic at your child's middle school before school ends. This record must be on file before the start of your child's 7^thgrade year. For questions please contact your child's doctor, the county health department or the clinic staff at your child's school. 

In the fall, students in grade 6 took the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) and the Stanford Achievement Test.  Student score reports for these assessments were sent home with students on Friday, March 9.  Please contact our school counselor if you have any questions.
